Northern Ireland’s leading young directors will come together next month to learn best practice on achieving business success and to support a corporate sleep out in aid of the Action for Children charity.
Young Director's Grow How Conference sponsored by Barclays and the MCS Group, takes place at Riddel Hall, Belfast on 6th October.
Attendees at the conference, which has taken the theme of ‘Grow How’ will hear from leadership guru David Meade whose keynote address will motivate them to achieve ‘maximum influence’. This interactive and practical event is hosted by BBC broadcaster Mark Simpson, and through the keynote, masterclasses and panel discussion delegates will hear from industry experts on growing their brand, scaling their business, and growing their own personal skills, particularly when it comes to the art of persuasion. The event is rounded off with entertainment from Belfast Ukele Jam.
Delegates will also have the opportunity to enter a prize draw, with all proceeds going towards Action for Children in support of the Byte Night sleep out, taking place on the evening of the conference at Stormont. Belfast is hosting one of ten sleep outs across the UK with all IoD NI staff taking part in the event.
IoD NI’s Head of Business Development Lisa Keys said:
“The Young Directors Conference is about learning how best to grow a successful business and grow greater prosperity for future generations.
“A key part of any successful company is its corporate social responsibility so we are delighted that the conference will this year be supporting Byte Night.
“The evening seeks to support the more than 83,000 young people across the UK that are homeless.”
Gavin Campbell, Barclays Corporate Banking Relationship Director said:
“This conference provides our young leaders with essential skills to grow their business – be that through financial advice, interpersonal skills, or simply learning from likeminded folk with similar ambition.
“Barclays is proud to be supporting this initiative, to meet and learn from the talented people who represent the future of Northern Ireland’s local economy, and to support them at every stage of their business journey.”
Barry Smyth, Managing Director, MCS Group, said:
“We are delighted to add our support to the IoD NI Young Directors Conference which plays a major role in shaping Northern Ireland’s future business leaders, and therefore the future success of the local economy.
“The Byte Night initiative is close to our hearts as an organisation, so we are particularly pleased that the conference will support this year’s fundraising efforts.”
This conference is open to anyone to attend and will be of particular interest to young professionals.
