Policy Voice
Tell government what you think.
Policy Voice is a monthly survey of IoD members who share their views on current business issues, providing statistical evidence and anecdotal detail on the issues that matter to business. Members receive monthly invitations to participate in each survey.
How we use Policy Voice
We use Policy Voice to collect and share evidence around key issues that affect our members, including in the routine conversations we have with government. The data is also regularly reported in national newspapers.
These are just a few of the ways that we have recently used Policy Voice:
Our latest data on confidence in the UK economy shows that 34% of directors are optimistic, versus 39% pessimistic (April)
We pushed government to reconsider the Retained EU Law Bill based on member concerns. They are now amending the bill to provide business with better certainty. (April)
In a letter to Ofgem, we highlighted that one in five members experienced disadvantageous treatment by energy suppliers in the last six months (March)
Our evidence on the support for incentivising green industries was widely reported (March)
In a letter to the Chancellor, we expressed concerns about a potential reduction in SME R&D support, based on member evidence (March)
We are responding to a government consultation on unfair dismissal based on data on employment practices (April)
