Q: How long have you been involved with the IoD?

I have been involved about 10 years, initially as a passive member, until becoming actively being involved in the local committee.

Q: Can you tell us a little about your career to date?

I have an Engineering background, almost entirely involved in some shape or other with Electronic components. I have managed multi-national organisations in the US, and low cost country factories in China and Mexico. I'm now running my own consultancy business, developing export markets in Europe and Asia.

Q: What do you hope to achieve as an IoD Branch Ambassador?

Act as a go to person, so I can help develop real networks to help local businesses.

Q: If you could give your 21 year old self some advice what would it be?

Be honest to yourself and those around you. Develop a strong network of people you can really trust.

Q: What keeps you busy outside of work?

I enjoy keeping active, with regular trips out cycling. Adventure type holidays, exploring the world and experiencing different cultures.

Q: Are there any business related or policy issues that keep you awake at night?

Brexit, makes me very nervous, and I worry for the next generation.

Q: Why do you think business leaders should join the IoD?

Many people join for access to the London office in Pall Mall & regional centres, or the green professional assistance. However I think, the real benefit is a network of professionals who are not here to sell you something, but want to meet like minded people to assist each other through the common issues we all face.
