Prior to staring CyberScale, I worked in various roles in IT and security ranging from 1st line support to Principal and Managing consultant roles over a 25 year career.

In addition to being the IOD Cyber Security Ambassador for the region, I am the cluster lead for Cyber East, our regions Cyber Security cluster. I also sit on the advisory boards for both the Eastern and East Midlands Cyber Resilience Centres.
Outside work (hobbies/interests):
Still a bit of a geek at heart, I love technology and what it enables people and businesses to do, so I love to keep up. I’m a keen rackets sports player, especially squash and badminton, love music, and a keen Norwich City fan (always a rollercoaster!).
How long have you been an IoD member?
4 years
Describe your role as an Ambassador:
I see my responsibility as an ambassador as supporting the members in my area. The best way for me to do that is to help directors understand their responsibilities around Cyber Security and looking after theirs and their clients data, and signposting them to trusted sources of advice, much of which is free but not necessarily easy to find.
What part of IoD membership do you value most?
Networking opportunities and a platform for sharing information to help other directors
What are the top three things about your branch area?
The beaches, the business community and the people.
If you could give one message to the Prime Minister, what would it be?
Concentrate on what’s right, and what people need. Do that well and elections will take care of themselves.
What are you most looking forward to in the next 12 months?
Helping more small businesses get better at cybersecurity and reducing their risks
Looking back, what advice would you give yourself when you started out in business?
Get the right people around you as soon as possible, accept that it won’t always be sunshine and rainbows and don’t be afraid to ask for help. And Always Be Learning.
