East of England Director of the Year Awards nominees

26 Apr 2017

The East of England Director of the Year Awards 2017 are fast approaching, with the Region’s best talent attending Awards Lunch at the Jockey Club Rooms, Newmarket on Friday 28 April.

We are delighted to welcome the following shortlisted finalists…

Natasha Carr

Managing Director, Hype Marketing

"After only 16 months in business, it is an honour to have been shortlisted for the IOD Director of the Year Awards. I have my team to thank, as it would not have been possible for Hype Marketing to have reached the level of success it has already achieved, without their hard work and support. It is great to be recognised by such a prestigious body for professional leadership and winning the award would propel Hype Marketing even further forward."

Charlie Dalton

Managing Director, Smart Garden Offices

"For me, the nomination and the shortlisting for DotY East demonstrates a recognition of my business and a team of which I'm immensely proud. That doing things the right way, the long way and the hard way isn't just about the bottom line, it's about creating jaw-droppingly good products, committed customers and livelihoods for my colleagues so they may thrive, grow and excel."

Tom Davis

Managing Director, Davis Construction

"I am delighted to have been shortlisted for the IOD East of England Awards. Davis Construction’s success is the product of a lot of hard work, a carefully thought-out strategy and taking considered risks in the pursuit of growth."

Luke Drewer

"I am very honoured to have been nominated and shortlisted for the IoD award. I would not have been able to build our businesses up if it was not for the hard work and dedication of the team around me. Winning would be a thrill as well as a humbling experience."

Essy Eslamian

Managing Director, Total Car Parks

"Winning the IOD Director of the Year Award 2017 would be a huge honour for me, and a recognition that as a Director and founder of Total Car Parks I have successfully driven my company towards establishing it as a major player in the car parking industry."

Rory Fitzgerald

Managing Director, GPF Lewis

“It is an honour to be shortlisted by the IOD for the 2017 East of England Director of the Year Awards and to be associated with such a prestigious brand. These awards are a fantastic platform for me and others in similar positions to gain some level of insight into our contribution in our respective businesses and to share knowledge and solutions to some of our common challenges. I would like to wish my best to all of my fellow competitors and look forward to the results being announced in April.”

Tom Fletcher

Managing Director, Jackson Fire & Security

“I am honoured to have been shortlisted for IoD Director of the Year award and feel privileged to be recognised alongside such a capable group of finalists.”

Stuart Grainger

Managing Director, FWD-IP Ltd

“I am honoured to be shortlisted for East of England IoD Director of the Year 2017 and on our 25 year anniversary. I am extremely proud of the team I work with and the clients we serve. Here is to the next 25 years.”

Kelly Haston

Managing Director, Aspire Cambridge

“I am thrilled to be shortlisted and to have received such high recognition for my work at aspire cambridge. It's great to get external recognition for all of the hard work our team has put in over the last nine years and help us increase awareness of our unique offering. Our company has countless achievements and accomplishments, especially from last year which proved to be exceptionally productive for our company. Without the support of our excellent team it would never have been this big.”

Jacyn Heavens

Founder, Epos Now

"It's a great honour to be shortlisted for the Director of the Year award considering the IOD is the UK's most respected body for professional leaders. I'm proud to be involved in the process, celebrating Epos Now's success and achievements with my peers."

Donald McGarva

CEO, Amino

“Winning such a prestigious award would be great recognition of Amino’s progress during 2016/7 and the transformation we’ve been through.”

Steve Pearce

CEO, Omega Ingredients

"I was extremely flattered to be nominated for the IoD East of England Director of the Year award. As well as being a great recognition of the work I’ve personally put into the business and in growing the industry here in the UK, it is also, most importantly, recognition of the diligent work of the wider Ωmega Ingredients team. It is a wonderful opportunity to promote the business and communicate our success to our customers in the UK and worldwide and I would be wholly grateful to win this award on behalf of the Ωmega team and everyone that helped make Omega Ingredients what it is today."

Christian Robinson

Chief Executive, Essex Police Sports Association

"Winning a Director of the Year Award would be recognition of the hard work of the small, yet effective team at the Essex Police Sports Association. Directors can sometimes appear to be removed from the day to day operations of their businesses yet without the commitment and dedication of their staff there would be no business at all. I wish all shortlisted entrants well throughout the competition and hope we can celebrate some success within the IoD East of England region."

Morgan Self

Managing Director, Do Different

"It is an honour to be nominated for the IoD Director of the Year. To be shortlisted for this award, alongside many fantastic leaders, is fabulous. This award is not only a proud moment for me personally, but must be seen as recognition for a fantastic team effort. Together we work with business leaders to maximise success and I am very happy to be recognised by the IoD for our achievements."

Alison Shadrack

Founder & MD, Adia PR

“Winning a Director of the Year award from the Institute of Directors would be the icing on the cake of what has been a very successful year. I’m so used to entering our clients for prestigious awards and celebrating their wins, I’m thrilled to have been shortlisted for my own award. It’s not always plain sailing running a business so being recognised by the judges gives you that nod and pat on the back to say yes, you’re doing good and heading in the right direction.”

Alex Till

“To be recognised for my continuous effort to develop, maintain and sustain MENTA, in the not for profit industry is brilliant.

Having been established for more than 33 years, we continue to be innovative in our approach to business development and growth. We support homeworkers, freelancers and established businesses, delivering a wide range of services and products."

Mike Watson

CEO, Tube Tech International Ltd

"Being shortlisted for the Director of the Year Awards validates my mantra of ‘Never let anyone tell you it can’t be done’. Most will try to bring you down, by this token they must be looking up at you in the first place, so turn around and keep climbing, you’ll be on your own a while and eventually you meet likeminded individuals who have been through the same struggle and now meet at the IoD.”

Ian White

Managing Director, Beckett Investment Management Group

"I am delighted to have been shortlisted for a Director of the Year Award. From a personal perspective, it confirms to me that investing time in building a ‘best in class’ team can bring extraordinary results."
