North West

March round-up

05 Apr 2019

Hello team North West.  Spring is finally here, and we could not be happier!

A huge thank you to all who came to support our events last month, we hope you took something useful away from each of them. On 4 April we celebrated the first ever IoD North West and Isle of Man Director of the Year Awards – with finalists from both sides of the water. The spectacular black tie dinner event brought together over 300 top business leaders, to celebrate those amazing leaders who are a positive force in our communities and society – creating quality jobs, improving opportunities, and making our region a better place to live and work. You can see the full album of photo's here

Before this, at the start of the month we invited our finalists, former winners and sponsors to Canto, with a view to getting to know each other before the big night. The event was kindly co-hosted by Kuits Solicitors, our headline partner.

We also held an event within the walls of HMP Styal’s Clink restaurant in Wilmslow, offering a brand new dining experience designed to transform the lives of women prisoners through work-based skills training. Attendees heard from the Clink and Timpsons about the benefits of recruiting ex offenders but  a motivated but often untapped workforce. You can read more about the work of The Clink Charity here.

March also marked our very first 99 Social which took place at Manchester Library, and was hosted by Alex Mitchell from IoD 99. The event offered entrepreneurs the opportunity to pitch to each other, network and offer peer support. If you missed this one but would like to come along, our next Manchester 99 event will be held in October, you can book via our event page here
