Individuals and boards are able to complete the Certificate in Company Direction, achieve the Diploma in Company Direction and then progress to Chartered Director under the guidance of local and visiting course leaders.

Certificate in Company Direction

The first step to becoming Chartered is to complete the Certificate in Company Direction, a Level 9 (SCQF) qualification which consists of a set of courses – Leadership for Directors, Strategy for Directors, Role of the Director and the Board, and Finance for Non-Finance Directors.

Whether you’re newly appointed, aspire to a seat on the board, or want to improve performance with fresh insight, the IoD Certificate in Company Direction, Level 9 (SCQF) qualification will equip you with core the knowledge, mind-set and behaviours for effective performance. The programme examines key issues such as leadership and governance, interpretation and application of financial data and the employment of strategic management tools to enhance business performance.
