IoD99Bites: International growth opportunities

29 Sep 2017

In this week's epsiode of the IoD99Bites web series, 99 Chairman Alex Mitchell and IoD's Head of External Affairs Jamie Kerr meet IoD 99 member Victoria Boldison, founder of Bolst Global to discuss international business opportunities.

In the past, international growth has always been seen as only an opportunity for large businesses, but the world has changed. We now live in a global market where overseas growth is an opportunity for us all, whether you're a FTSE 100 or a start-up running from your bedroom.

Within the IoD 99 we are increasingly seeing members looking overseas for growth. Where there might be market saturation in the UK, taking you product or service to a new market could yield massive results. However it can also be extremely daunting: What country would work best for you? How do you get into the market? Who can you work with on the ground? Who to trust? etc...

In this week's IoD99Bites we are joined by Victoria Boldison, founder of Bolst Global, who has a huge amount of experience in helping SMEs go global. In the video above, we cover the key issues facing small businesses going into overseas markets, potential obstacles they might come across, and what support is out there.

Are you thinking of looking beyond the UK to grow your company? Look no further…
