On 6 February we held an event at the High Commission of India to discuss various aspects of the UK-India business relationship.
The event focussed on current economic analysis as well as the identification of opportunities for business through UK-India trade co-operation.
The evening sought to bring together individuals with an interest in UK-India trade and those who do business in both countries. One of the key topics was the recent presentation of the Indian annual budget by Shri Arun Jaitley, Finance Minister of India. The budget holds high significance, coming half way through Prime Minister Modi’s term. It was also the second-last budget presented before India’s 2019 elections.
The panel discussion involved questions from the audience and was followed by refreshments and networking in the beautiful venue located in the heart of the Strand.
Founded in 1895, the association has over 8000 members, from the private as well as public sectors, including SMEs and MNCs, and an indirect membership of over 200,000 enterprises from around 240 national and regional sectoral industry bodies.
