Niels has over 10 years experience in the banking industry with ABN AMRO and ING in both the Netherlands and France and an Advisory Board Member for Fiduciam and Alterest Investment Technologies.He obtained an MBA at the IE Business School in Madrid and specialised in Strategy and Finance at the NYU Stern School of Business in New York. 



Dr Chris Moore, Technology Specialist at the Department for International Trade (DIT)
Chris is a Technology Sector Specialist at the UK’s Department for International Trade (DIT), working in the Technology and Smart Cities Team. In this role, he assists technology companies to establish a presence in the UK, and UK tech companies to do trade overseas. Chris covers the Software sector, with specific interests in artificial intelligence, data analytics, cloud computing, data centres, and cyber security. He has also been engaged with the development of the UK Government’s AI Sector deal, working closely with the Office for AI, and is the lead DIT contact for the AI Grand Challenge

Nick Chism, Chief Business Adviser, Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS)
Nick has promoted better collaboration between the public and private sectors around the world. His professional background is in corporate finance. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales, and an Associate Member of the Institution of Civil Engineers. 




Nick Obolensky, Complex Adaptive Leadership
Nick has extensive experience of working abroad including Europe, Middle East, Americas, Australia and Asia with large multi-national and local companies. Nick’s experience includes: being a UK Army Major, a Strategy Consultant for a blue-chip firm, a FTSE 100 director, blue chip business school Professor, entrepreneur and best-selling author. He is the MD of CAL’s Chinese wholly owned subsidiary.



Dr Christopher Foster, Presidential Research Fellow, Global Development Institute 
Chris Foster is currently a Presidential Fellow at the Global Development Institute, where he joined in October 2018. His research focusses on the digitalisation of production, and the implications of new digital innovation on the global distribution of production, work and labour. Prior to joined GDI, Chris was a Lecturer in ICT and innovation in the Information School in Sheffield (2015-2018). He worked as a researcher at the University of Oxford (2013-2015), exploring the impacts of broadband internet in East Africa.

Richard handles Risk & Regulation matters, advising and defending organisations in their dealings with regulatory bodies such as the HSE, the Environment Agency, Environmental Health, the Food Standards Agency, Trading Standards and fire authorities. He has worked extensively with high hazard industries such as energy, construction, waste and manufacturing.



Rollo Hope, Head of Exports, Technology and Smart Cities at DIT
In March 2019, Rollo was promoted to Head of Exports for Technology and Smart Cities. He manages a team with a global focus on assisting UK technology companies export their products and services across capabilities including Telecomms, AI, Sensors, Data Management and Data Centres.

 

Elliott King, CEO, MintTwist
Elliott is an entrepreneur; CEO and Co-Founder of the digital agency, MintTwist and Co-Owner of the digital innovation company, RadLab ventures. Elliott started programming computers in the 1980's and has over 20-years of professional experience, helping hundreds brands such as Roche, Virgin and Accenture to navigate and leverage the digital revolution. He is responsible for delivering effective and value-adding online marketing campaigns and digital services to UK, Middle East, European and other international clients.


Bev Messinger, Chief Executive, IOSH
Bev has been the CEO of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) since October 2016. IOSH is the world’s largest membership organisation – and only Chartered body – for safety and health professionals. She leads on the delivery of IOSH’s strategy, WORK 2022, which sets out how IOSH will work globally with businesses, stakeholders and individual members to shape the future of safety and health at work. Bev is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development with an impressive track record of delivering organisational transformation and cultural change across central and local government.

Richard Orton, Director Of Strategy And Business Development, IOSH
Richard is Director of Strategy and Business Development at IOSH, the Chartered body for safety and health professionals. An IoD member and Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing, Richard is also a board member of the Center for Safety and Health Sustainability – a collaboration of professional bodies in the UK and North America, committed to advancing the safety, health and sustainability of the global workplace.


Jonathan Nobbs, Head Of Product, IOSH
Jonathan joined IOSH in 2016 and has led a programme to diversify IOSH’s product portfolio. The context for the programme has been to promote safety and health as an agenda that creates value for organisations in relation to brand, resilience, productivity and innovation. Consequently, the IOSH Product Team has focused on developing products and services to enable employers to create the right leadership, culture and governance; to provide technical professionals with the skills to influence at the highest levels of organisations, and the wider workforce to take responsibility for the ownership of safety and health within the workplace. Jonathan has more than 20 years senior experience working in the private sector, for the British Government and a range of NGOs.

Craig Melson, Programme Manager | Digital Devices, Consumer Electronics, Export Controls and Environment and Compliance, techUK
Craig is Programme Manager across Digital Devices, Environment and Compliance and Consumer Electronics which covers issues as diverse as modern slavery, conflict minerals, new tech, compliance and Brexit. Prior to joining techUK he worked in public affairs, communications, television and consumer electronics and he has an avid interest in new and emerging technologies.

 

Christian Syme, Export Finance Manager, UK Department for International Trade

Christian currently works as an Export Finance Manager, working as part of the UK Department for International Trade. Prior to this she was Head of Trade and Investment at the British Embassy in Bahrain. She has an MA with Honours in International Relations and 17 years’ experience in international business development for government and private sector. She has a strong strategic focus and has worked in a variety of industry sectors. She has wide experience of working in the Middle East, has carried out projects for the Inter-American Development Bank in Washington and was based in Paris for 10 years working for Scottish Development International’s Southern Europe, Middle East and Africa hub, she is fluent in Spanish and French.

Emily Beynon, Deputy Director for Strategy Planning on the Industrial Strategy, Department of Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy

Emily is responsible for longer-term planning and delivery of the Strategy. Previously, she worked in the Cabinet Office, where she had roles as Private Secretary to the Cabinet Secretary and Head of the Civil Service (on economic and international affairs) and as Head of Energy, Transport and the Environment in the Economic and Domestic Affairs secretariat. Emily has worked in Whitehall and the public sector for over ten years in a range of roles, including as a policy adviser in the Department of Energy and Climate Change. Her educational background and experience prior to government were in biotech research.

Jennifer is also a director of Cumbria Tourism and is chair of the Lake District China Forum. Jennifer is also one of three new directors to join UK Inbound. UK Inbound represents the interests of the UK’s inbound tourism and works to ensure the sector is recognised as one of the country’s leading economic and employment drivers. It also lobbies the government on issues that affect the tourism industry on behalf of its more than 400 member businesses, which includes Windermere Lake Cruises.
