The national Chartered Director Conference will be hosted by North East (North) Branch Chair, a fellow chartered director and business leader, SarahWaddington. Celebrating the theme of innovation, we invite you to a day at Nissan, Sunderland, one of UK's longstanding advanced manufacturing success stories. See first-hand how Nissan’s pioneering investment has helped to build factories of the future, transformed its facilities and upskilled its workforce.
This exciting and rare opportunity to see inside the Nissan plant will take us to the final assembly area of the production line where the Qashqai & Juke models are built. You will see just under 3,000 parts fitted to the car as it passes on the production line in precise sequence with commentary describing each parts fitment and quality control procedure. The final part of the tour consists of visiting the tester line to see how each vehicle is put through quality control.
We are delighted to have Dr Geeta Nathan joining us from Innovate UK who will be speaking on different types of innovation and the link between innovation and productivity. She will draw on case studies from different sectors and across sizes of businesses, looking at lessons learnt and at the same time sign post where in ecosystem support is available to support businesses on their innovation journey.
We also welcome Alan Hindley and Elise Williams from The Mindset Development Group who will be delivering a workshop on building a thriving organisation by unlocking potential. Organisations are facing a volatile future. Coping with change and uncertainty impacts individual, and team productivity, which ultimately impacts profitability. We will look at how to identify these challenges, discuss the impact, and share an evidence-based toolkit to enhance your business's productivity, engagement and effectiveness.
