This year's conference take a theme of ‘innovation’, something for which our key note speaker Liz Earle is synonymous. The conference will also feature CEO of Flybe, Christine Ourmières-Widener, a range of panel sessions focused on innovation, the language of leadership and emotional intelligence. And, of course, the opportunity to engage with delegates from across a diverse range of sectors.
Although the day will have a particular focus on women as leaders, the emphasis is on Leadership and men are welcomed and encouraged to attend to build their leadership ‘toolkit’.

Liz will share her experiences and impart knowledge that delegates can apply in their own careers.

Liz Earle MBE is a writer, broadcaster and award-winning entrepreneur. Christine Ourmières-Widener, CEO of Flybe
Christine joined Flybe as Chief Executive Officer on 16th January 2017. With extensive international experience across the aviation and travel sectors, immediately prior to joining the airline, she was Chief Global Sales Officer for American Express Global Business Travel, responsible for developing the company’s strategy and driving business growth in major markets across North America, Europe and Asia with a strong focus on improving the customer experience.
Aisling Keegan, Dell EMC Ireland
Aisling is Vice President and General Manager for Dell EMC Ireland and is responsible for driving the company’s commercial business on the island of Ireland. This involves delivering a wide range of services, solutions and products to a diverse group of customers in the public and private sector. Aisling joined Dell EMC in 2000 and during her seventeen year tenure with the company has held a number of key leadership positions across the small, medium and large enterprise customer segments.
Ciara Donlon, Theya Healthcare
Ciara is CEO & Founder of Theya Helathecare. She began her career in marketing with over 15 years' experience in large corporates including RBS, Irish Life & Permanent and Vodafone as Head of the Online Channel. The idea for THEYA Healthcare came about in 2012, when Ciara was running her own successful lingerie shop in Dublin. Breast cancer survivors regularly came in looking for post surgery bras but unable to find a product that really met their needs. With the input of 80 breast cancer survivors in Ireland and the UK, as well as advice from healthcare professionals, Ciara developed an innovative range of post surgery lingerie.
Alice Charles, World Economic Forum
Alice Charles leads all Cities and Urban Development work at the World Economic Forum, Geneva, Switzerland. This includes developing the Forum's Fourth Industrial Revolution City Preparedness Protocol, managing the Future of Urban Development and Services Initiative, its Steering and Advisory Committee, the Global Future Council on Cities and Urbanization, the production of all city and urban development related content and cities and urban development events at World Economic Forum Summits (including Davos). She is also an External Board Member of the National Asset Management Agency (NAMA), Ireland.
Marie Macklin CBE, Macklin Partnerships
Marie is Executive Chair of Macklin Enterprise Partnerships, which she established in 2015. The organisation seeks to invest in entrepreneurs and their businesses, they take direct stakes in selected businesses or invests through special-purpose funds created and managed with like-minded third parties. Marie takes the lead in identifying potential partners and providing start-up and management advice to selected entrepreneurs. In 2003, before establishing the business, Marie had transformed a construction business, founded by her father, into an entrepreneurial company engaged in economic and social transformation in Scotland.
Rosemary Steen, SONI (EirGrid Group)
Rosemary Steen was appointed Director of External Affairs in July 2015 having previously held the position of Director of Public Affairs since joining EirGrid Group in 2014. Rosemary also serves on the board of the European Movement and on the Council of the Dublin Chamber. Rosemary has extensive Corporate Affairs, Government Relations and Corporate Social Responsibility experience from the Telecommunications, Utilities and Business Industry Body sectors. She has previously held senior positions in Vodafone, Shell and IBEC. Rosemary has a BA in Economics and Philosophy from Trinity College Dublin, an MBS in Logistics and Manufacturing from University College Dublin and a Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Studies from Dublin Institute of Technology.
Carmel McKinney OBE, NI Fire & Rescue Service
Carmel McKinney OBE has extensive experience both as a strategic and operational leader. A former school principal she went on to chair two large public sector bodies within the Education sector and in 2015 transferred her competences and skills set to become the first female Chairperson of the NI Fire and Rescue Service. She is currently the sole female within the Boardroom setting and in the top tier of the organisation. She is a diversity champion and part of her role has been to encourage more young women to consider a career in the Fire Service as well as promote aspiring leaders to compete for non executive directors positions. Carmel was runner up in the prestigious Guardian Public Service Awards for Leadership Excellence being the only person from Northern Ireland to make the national shortlist.
Jill Minne, HR NICS
Jill joined the NI Civil Service at the end of April 2017 as Strategic HR Director. She leads NICSHR, a relatively new organisation in the NI Civil Service providing retained HR services and strategic HR advice to all NI Civil Service departments to support a well led, high performing, outcome focussed NI Civil Service of the future.
She has been involved in human resources and change management for about 27 years, including more than two decades at Belfast City Council where she was Assistant Chief Executive and strategic director responsible for organisational transformation, HR, internal and external communications, diversity and inclusion, and management of the Lord Mayor’s Unit.
Jill is delighted to be joint Diversity Champion in the NI Civil Service alongside Peter May, Permanent Secretary for the Department of Infrastructure.
Emer Hinphey, Thinkpeople Consulting
Emer is Managing Partner and Co-founder of HR and People Development Consultancy, Think People Consulting Ltd. With over 20 years of experience in business management, leadership and organisation development, and consultancy, Emer leads the OD and People Development Division. Previous senior roles included HR in AIB International Financial Services and a start-up Technology and Telco company. In her consulting career Emer has worked with an enviable list of organisations spanning global Plc’s, SME’s including Start Up’s, public sector and local government, and 3rd sector organisations across the Island of Ireland, England and the US.
Susan Hayes Culleton, Hayes Culleton
Susan Hayes is Managing Director of Hayes Culleton and co-author of the very recently published “Positive Economics”, a Leaving Certificate Economics textbook and “The Savvy Woman’s Guide to Financial Freedom” with Penguin Ireland. Hayes Culleton Ltd is an international financial training company that specializes in eLearning development and delivery. Susan introduced the company to the international markets in 2011 and was nominated for the Enterprise Europe Network Rising Star Awards last year. In 2008, she wrote a digitised module called “Introducing Wall Street to the Classroom” to make the stock market approachable and accessible for second level students. Susan regularly contributes to the national and international media including The Sunday Times (Malta), Irish Post (UK), RTE, Newstalk and Today FM (Ireland), as “The Positive Economist” on matters relating to economics, the stock market and entrepreneurship.

Paula is a highly skilled professional working in the area of People & Organizational Development and Change Management. Her outgoing and memorable style is highly impactful and centre’s around developing client and team accountability and their potential to deliver on both personal and organizational goals which can lead to creating positive change.For over 20 years Paula has specialized in assisting organizations and the individuals to reach their highest potential. Paula is a Licensed Practitioner for Insights Discovery, An NLP Practitioner, Executive Coach, and A Qualified Practitioner for Six Seconds, (a global organisation specializing in the assessment of emotional intelligence /EI). She has recently delivered a TedX Talk in Galway “Your Forensic Mirror”.
