Annual dinner kick starts busy year for IoD South Yorkshire
The IoD is looking ahead to a busy year of events in South Yorkshire – including a Behind the Scenes visit to Sheffield Theatres – following the successful return of the IoD South Yorkshire annual dinner.
Guests at the prestigious annual dinner, held at Sheffield’s historic Cutlers’ Hall in May, heard a keynote speech from Jon Geldart, IoD Director General.
Directors from advanced manufacturing, professional services and the public and third sectors were at the dinner to hear Jon’s address on business resilience.

The dinner raised more than £1,100 for Cavendish Cancer Care, a Sheffield-based charity supporting people living with cancer.
We are grateful for the support of our event sponsors CMS, BHP and Sheffield Universities’ Managing Directors’ Club.
For its next event, IoD South Yorkshire has secured an exclusive Behind the Scenes visit to Sheffield Theatres on 7 June. Book your place here.
Sheffield Theatres comprises three venues: the Crucible, Lyceum and the Crucible Studio. These theatres make up the largest regional theatre complex outside the London region and show a variety of in-house and touring productions.
IoD South Yorkshire members and guests will go behind the scenes as Sheffield Theatres prepares for a theatrical first, in which the same cast perform in the Crucible, Lyceum and Studio simultaneously. That’s three theatres, three plays, ONE cast – all at the same time!
The Behind the Scenes visit starts at 5pm, with time for networking after the tour.
