A few words from Michele Augousti, IoD Sussex Chair
I was just reflecting on the challenges we’ve faced over the past two years, and how as a nation we’ve had to adapt and are now slowly adjusting to getting back to normal; a testament to the fortitude and the collaborative nature of human kind.
This collaboration can also be found closer to home, within the IoD community; during my current tenure as IoD Sussex Chair and prior to this as the Vice-Chair, and as an Ambassador and ordinary IoD member, I’ve experienced this many times. I’ve been an IoD member for over 15 years and throughout this time I’ve known I can always call on my IoD peers, any of the Chairs and Ambassadors regardless of where they are located and when I’ve needed, it there’s been multitude of help, advice, events and training available, all of which have undoubtedly played a very positive role in my career. The IoD has a significant part to play in supporting any business professionals’ careers, and the adage ‘Better directors mean better run businesses and stronger, more sustainable economies that benefit everyone.’ is as true today as when I first joined the IoD all those years ago.
