T2M founder celebrates 10 year anniversary by joining the IoD
New IoD West Midlands member Steve Randall is MD of T2M Resourcing, a business he founded and which celebrates its 10 year anniversary this year.
Based in Worcester, T2M Resourcing (which stands for Trainee to Management) is a specialist consultancy which recruits into the accountancy, finance, HR, engineering, technical and procurement sectors for SMEs and multinationals, across the UK and beyond.
With more than 30 years’ experience in the recruitment sector, Steve has worked with many of the big corporate recruitment agencies, establishing and running a Birmingham office for global recruitment firm Robert Walters before heading up the finance division of specialist IT recruitment agency Harvey Nash plc and establishing its offices in Birmingham and supporting launches in Dublin and Edinburgh.
In 2014 Steve decided to capitalise on all of this experience and set up his own recruitment business. “I wanted to control my own destiny and to get away from the rigidity and structured model offered by many of the larger recruitment agencies.
“Establishing T2M enabled me to adapt our methodology to better suit the individual client’s needs. We are interested in the value of developing long term relationships with our clients, not just taking a short term fee. Our aim was, and is, to be the trusted advisor and an independent sounding board to companies.”
It is an ethos that has served the company well and 10 years later, 80% of its business comes through evolved relationships and recommendations.T2M Resourcing has an eclectic client base ranging from SMEs to £4 bn turnover businesses but all with one thing in common – they are high growth companies. The ethos at T2M is a partnership approach to helping people and companies grow.
Now employing 10, T2M boasts a low staff turnover with clients enjoying the continuity of a highly experienced team which understands their objectives.
Says Steve: “While T2M is sector agnostic, we are increasingly working with businesses with an environmental focus and we are keen to do our bit to protect the planet. To this end, we have partnered with The Future Forest Company to plant a new tree for every candidate we place. To date, we have planted 265 trees in just 18 months as part of efforts to reforest the UK.”
As an innovative business leader and SME director of more than 30 years, Steve is seeking to build on his expertise and connections by joining the IoD.
Says Steve: “We’ve previously joined a number of business organisations as part of our business development but found that they were not targeting the right audience for our services.
“Now in our tenth year, and as part of our five-year plan for strategic growth, we are increasingly focussing on mid and senior level appointments. I’d had some previous experience of collaborating with the IoD and we wanted to tap into the educational resources, as well as the valuable networking connections at a senior level, that the organisation offers.
