IoD London Property & Built Environment Group launches partnership with New London Architecture

IoD London Property & Built Environment (PBE) Group launched its new partnership with New London Architecture (NLA) on 27 January 2022.

Over 50 people attended the launch event, which took place at the NLA’s temporary exhibition space in Coal Drops Yard, part of the King’s Cross Central development, near King’s Cross and St Pancras Stations.

Three keynote speakers recognised the partnership:

• John McLean – Member of the IoD London Region Governing Body

• Benjamin O’Connor – Director of NLA

• Richard Nelson – Chair of the Property & Built Environment Group

John opened the session which overlooked the New London Model in NLA’s exhibition space. He was followed by Benjamin, who shared a high-level overview on the NLA and its upcoming events, exhibits and policy work, and then Richard, who shared the purpose of this partnership, future IoD events and activities of the PBE group, and finished with some closing remarks. The event was kindly sponsored by Finance House Solutions Ltd.

This new partnership will expand learning, development and networking opportunities for both IoD and NLA members. Attendees had the opportunity to view the NLA’s fantastic New London Model, which covers 195 square kilometres across 19 boroughs at 1:2000 scale, and includes many proposed buildings that have not been completed yet, giving all attendees a glimpse of the future of our fantastic city of London.

NLA is the independent centre for London’s built environment, where professionals, politicians and the public can meet, learn and have a voice on the future shape of #London. They bring people and ideas together to shape a better city.

The Property & Built Environment Group is run by IoD Ambassadors on a voluntary basis.
