IoD West Midlands Magazine - Autumn 2019

We are delighted to announce the Autumn edition of the IoD West Midlands quarterly magazine in which we take a closer look at the diversity and inclusivity agenda and cover September's IoD Open House Roadshow. We also celebrate 10 incredible years on the IoD Mentoring Programme at Coventry University and The University of Wolverhampton.  Additionally in this issue, take a behind-the-scenes look at the innovative, autonomous PODS at Westfield Technology Group and Morgan Motors.

The IoD West Midlands Region

This diverse region covers the counties of Staffordshire, Shropshire, Herefordshire, Worcestershire and Warwickshire, as well as the urban areas of Birmingham, Coventry, Solihull and the Black Country and is made up of over 1,800 directors and senior decision makers.

Headed up by regional chair, Brian Hall, the IoD West Midlands hosts a programme of seminars, business breakfasts and special events which give members the opportunity to listen, question and be inspired by business leaders, politicians and decision-makers.

Our branches

The regional head office is located at the IoD West Midlands Hub in the iHub Colmore Gate. iHub has a wide selection of spaces for IoD Members to work in across two floors, in the very heart of Birmingham’s Business district.

The West Midlands region includes Birmingham, the Black Country, Shropshire, Staffordshire and parts of Derbyshire. It encompasses key towns and cities such as Wolverhampton, Dudley, Telford, Stoke, Shrewsbury and Stafford.

Within IoD West Midlands we are well supported by our branch chairs, who help to ensure that we reach all of our members across the region. Ian Priest is responsible for the Black Country area, Richard Bisiker looks after Staffordshire and Shropshire, Jo Hodgetts chairs Hereford and Worcester and Dean Kavanagh is the branch chair of Coventry and Warwickshire.

As the UK heads towards the possibility of leaving the EU without a deal, it can be difficult for businesses to know where to go for guidance.  Amidst all the political noise and confusion, the IoD is here to give business leaders the information they need to help them prepare and plan.  A no-deal doesn’t have to mean no idea.

Visit the IoD Brexit hub for the most up to date information.
