A shared working space and a high-quality café for informal meetings with an exceptional network of academics, high-tech, creative and low-carbon entrepreneurs and innovators, business leaders, policy makers and professionals.
The business lounge has a mix of train carriage-style innovation pods, high tables, comfortable sofas and superfast broadband and is the perfect environment for IoD members to connect with the right people within Brunel’s iconic listed Engine Shed.
Founder members of the business lounge are: Bath Spa University, Bristol Media, Institute of Directors, University of Bath, University of Bristol and University of the West of England (UWE). New members Business West Initiative and Royal Society for the Arts (RSA) have just confirmed they will be using Engine Shed as their base in the west. Any member of the IoD can use the facilities of the business lounge free of charge during office hours (8.30am-5.30pm) on a first-come, first-served basis and can sign in up to two non-members on each visit. Members are entitled to 25 per cent discount on our meeting room hire rates. Click here for more information about Engine Shed.
The central Bristol location, combined with the excellent travel links provided by one of the UK's most connected transport hubs, Temple Meads train station, just a one-minute walk away, make it the perfect place to meet with colleagues.
