Policy Voice June 2023

Policy Voice is one of the IoD’s most valuable tools. Our monthly survey asks members to feedback their views on a broad range of UK policy developments such as net zero planning, the corporate governance code, industrial strategy, the trading relationship with the EU, and a series of economic monitoring questions.

The results we collect are both statistical and anecdotal and form the basis of everything we ask for from government. They are crucial to our understanding of our members’ attitudes to policy changes and developments, and the government frequently requests access to the results of our surveys as a valuable insight into business sentiment.

In June the data had a lot of impact. Our release of the data on the UK’s trading relationship with the EU was covered in the Financial Times ‘Britain After Brexit’ newsletter, and in The Times. We wrote a our letter to the Chancellor of the Exchequer based on our investment questions. Our economic confidence results were distributed widely among our government stakeholders.
