Building global leadership IoD expands director education in China
The Institute of Directors continues to strengthen its presence across China, deepening relationships and delivering world-class professional development opportunities.
Representing the IoD in China and ASEAN, Tina Wang attended the Welcome Reception for the new British Ambassador to China, Peter Wilson CMG, held in Beijing on Monday, 13 October.
During the event, Tina introduced the Ambassador to the IoD’s work in China. The Ambassador was pleased to learn about the IoD’s expanding presence and contribution to the business community in China.
Since 2023, the Institute of Directors (IoD) has been delighted to deliver a series of flagship professional development courses across Beijing, Shanghai, and Hong Kong. These have included The International Role of the Director and the Board (held three times), Strategy for Directors, Finance for Non-Finance Directors, and Leadership for Directors.
To complement these courses, IoD China also hosted two Alumni Events — Navigating business strategy through uncertain times and Tariffs, Trade and Geopolitical Challenges: Boardroom Strategies in an Uncertain World — providing valuable forums for discussion and peer learning among business leaders.
Led by IoD specialists from the UK, the courses were delivered in partnership with the China-Britain Business Council (CBBC), the British Chamber of Commerce in China (BritCham China), the European Union Chamber of Commerce in China, the British Chamber of Commerce Shanghai (BritCham Shanghai), the British Chamber of Commerce Hong Kong, and AustCham China.
Supported by the UK Department for Business and Trade, the upcoming Strategy for Directors course is taking place from 20–22 October at the British Consulate-General in Shanghai.
