IoD delivers its ‘Strategy for Directors’ course and first Alumni event in China in 2024!
The Institute was delighted to deliver our three-day ‘Strategy for Directors’ course, along with the first Alumni Event in China on 12 June 2024, hosted by Tina Wang CertIoD.
The course was led by IoD course leader and strategy specialist Jane Bishop FIoL MBA Consultant. It was delivered in partnership with the British Chamber of Commerce in China (BritCham China), the European Union Chamber of Commerce in China, British Chamber of Commerce Shanghai (BritCham Shanghai), China-Britain Business Council, and AustCham China.
The Alumni event comprised of a discussion forum focused on “navigating business strategy through uncertain times”. IoD alumni and guests were treated to an inspirational and fascinating set of presentations, perspectives, insights and debates. These included inputs from Jonathan Geldart – IoD Director General, Jens Eskelund – Chief Representative of Maersk in the Greater China Area and North-East Asia/President of EU Chamber of Commerce in China, Dr. Henry Huiyao Wang王辉耀 – the Founder and President of Centre for China and Globalization, Yue Su – the Principal Economist of Access China/Asia at Economist Intelligence: EIU, and Jane Bishop. All participants reported enjoying a robust discussion and debate!
The Institute representative in China Tina Wang organised and hosted the ‘International Role of the Director and the Board’ course twice during 2023 in Beijing. Delegates at the courses came from a wide variety of internationally renowned organisations and institutions, representing diverse cultures from as far afield as Australia, Canada, China, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Taipei and the United Kingdom. The dynamic mix of cultures and perspectives provided a catalyst for robust discussions with extremely positive feedback and satisfaction received from all attendees.
