IoD North Yorkshire to deliver free events at York Business Festival

IoD North Yorkshire is delighted to be partnering with City of York Council to deliver three sessions at York Business Festival, which returns in November 2022.

Now in its 12th year, this month-long programme of free workshops and networking opportunities will focus on ‘Growing the Economy for Today and Tomorrow’.

The IoD sessions will all explore the theme “Closer to home – an economy driven by good business”.

Is good governance a block to innovation?

11.10am-12.15pm, 1 November, York Guildhall.

As well as examining the increasingly important subject of good governance, this session will also provide an opportunity for SME attendees to hear about the support and assistance available to them in York.

The economic impact on business

11am-12.45pm, 2 November, York Guildhall

The following day, we return to the Guildhall to explore how to manage an SME in a challenging economic climate. We will also examine how to be prepared to raise capital for growth from the perspective of a panel of venture capital, private equity and angel investors.

ESG – a guide to good business

3.30pm-5pm, 3 November, York St John University

If you want a sustainable and successful endeavour, you need to build a culture that addresses the full range of ESG issues. This session will help you understand some of those challenges and give you insight on how to shine.
