Award: Sustainability Award
1. Tell us a bit about yourself—what do you do, and which award did you win at the Wales Director of the Year Awards 2025?
I am the Co-founder and Managing Director of Celtic Financial Planning Ltd, a firm of independent financial advisers based in North Wales, and I was delighted to receive the Sustainability Award at this year’s Director of the Year Awards Wales.
2. What does winning this award mean to you personally and professionally?
It means a great deal to me personally and to the wider team. We take enormous pride in doing business the right way, being mindful of our local community and the environment in which we operate. This recognition is a real testament to that hard work and commitment.
3. What advice would you give to other directors striving for excellence in leadership?
My advice would be to truly listen and engage with your teams, because leadership is built on trust and connection. At the same time, always consider how those on the outside, your clients and the wider community, perceive you, your business, and the impact of your decisions. Striving for excellence means balancing the internal culture you create with the external reputation you build.
4. How has your involvement with the IoD supported your journey as a business leader?
My involvement with the IoD has given me the chance to make meaningful connections, share best practice, and meet like-minded professionals from a network I might never have encountered otherwise. It’s been a valuable source of support and perspective on my journey as a business leader.
