IoD strengthens its Kent team with key appointments

The Institute of Directors (IoD) has boosted its Kent team with the appointment of Sweena Badhan as vice chair.

Sweena is director of business development at EY Breakthrough Incentives which works with SMEs, helping them to claim support for their innovative projects.

Sweena has previously worked in local authorities and the construction industry. She said: “I have been an IoD member for four years and am looking forward to working closely with the team to promote and raise awareness of the Kent branch through my contacts and experience.”

Sweena is joined at the Kent branch by Adele Oxberry who becomes education and skills ambassador.

Adele is chief executive of Umbrella Training, a nationwide training and apprenticeship provider for the hospitality and corporate sectors. She said: “Having worked across the education and skills sector for many years, I am acutely aware of the challenges facing so many people across the UK. There are opportunities for growth, and I am looking forward to working with the IoD and its membership to help identify and utilise these.”

Both Sweena and Adele will support Kent branch chair Nigel Earnshaw. He said: “I’m delighted to welcome Sweena and Adele to our team. Their combined knowledge and expertise will prove a valuable asset in supporting and growing our membership in Kent.”
