I enjoy writing, baking, ideating and exploring the connection between enterprise and economic mobility. I also mentor emerging leaders and entrepreneurs on self-leadership and structured ambition.
How long have you been an IoD member?
Over a year this time, previously – over a year.
Describe your role as an Ambassador:
As an Ambassador for the Institute of Directors (IoD) Kent, I represent the Organisational Development and Design portfolio, with a focus on transitions, change and culture. I support
business leaders in strengthening performance through effective structure, strategy and leadership alignment. My role includes facilitating connections across the Kent business community, contributing to IoD events and roundtables, and championing initiatives that help directors build organisations that are performance ready through moments of transition and growth.
What part of IoD membership do you value most?
I value the access – to people, insight and perspective. The IoD creates a space where leaders can exchange ideas that shape better governance, stronger businesses and more confident decision-making. It’s that combination of connection and continuous learning that makes it invaluable.
What are the top three things about your branch area?
Kent has a rare blend of enterprise, heritage and opportunity. Its proximity to London and Europe gives businesses a unique strategic advantage. There’s also a strong sense of community here – leaders genuinely want to collaborate, grow and create impact that lasts.
If you could give one message to the Prime Minister, what would it be?
Prioritise structure. Vision without structure keeps the nation ambitious but underperforming. Invest in leadership, governance and systems that make growth sustainable, because resilience is built, not wished for.
What are you most looking forward to in the next 12 months?
I’m looking forward to deepening partnerships that turn ambition into measurable outcomes; in business, trade and leadership. The next year is about scaling impact, building performance-ready organisations and strengthening the culture that sustains growth.
Looking back, what advice would you give yourself when you started out in business?
Trust the process, but structure the journey. Clarity saves time, culture sustains growth, and the right relationships open doors no strategy alone can. Everything moves faster when purpose, people and structure align.
