Scotland’s top business leaders honoured at the IoD Scotland Director of the Year Awards 2025
The Institute of Directors (IoD) Scotland celebrated the outstanding achievements of the nation’s most inspiring and innovative business leaders at the IoD Scotland Director of the Year Awards 2025.
Held in recognition of exemplary leadership across Scotland’s diverse sectors, the awards highlighted directors who have demonstrated excellence in governance, innovation, sustainability, and people management – shaping the future of Scottish enterprise.
Among the evening’s top accolades were two special honours:
- The Chair’s Award was presented to Joyce Onuonga, Managing Director of JWS Precision Weighing, for her transformative leadership in revitalising one of Scotland’s oldest manufacturing firms. Joyce, originally from Kenya, has driven the company into a new era of innovation and inclusion, following her 2017 management buyout and decades of dedication to operational excellence.
- The Lifetime Achievement Award went to Marc Crothall MBE, Chief Executive of the Scottish Tourism Alliance, recognising his exceptional contribution to Scotland’s tourism and hospitality sector. With over four decades of experience across the globe, Marc has been a driving force behind Scotland’s national tourism strategy and continues to play a pivotal role in industry leadership and policy development.
