IoD Scotland searches for top directors
Business leaders from the private, public and third sector are encouraged to enter this year’s awards, with categories recognising excellence in areas including diversity, innovation and sustainability.
Taking place on 8 June at the Edinburgh International Conference Centre (EICC), the awards ceremony will be held in-person for the first time since 2019, and will be the first with new Nations Director, Catherine McWilliam at the helm of the organisation.
Catherine said: “ The last few years have been some of the toughest in recent history for business leaders. From the Covid-19 pandemic to global unrest, the economic downturn to recruitment challenges, directors have had to be more resilient, innovative and focussed than ever.
“These awards provide an opportunity to celebrate the work being done in boardrooms across the country to ensure our businesses don’t just survive but thrive.”
The Director of the Year awards 2023 will have 12 categories, recognising leaders in:
- Equality, Diversity & Inclusion
- Family Business
- Third Sector
- Agility & Resilience
- International
- Innovation
- Sustainability
- Non-Executive
- Young
- Public Sector
- Small – Medium Business (up to £25 million)
- Large Business (£25m +)
There will also be seven regional awards, reflecting the work across each of the IoD Scotland’s branches; Aberdeen & Grampian, Central Scotland, Edinburgh & Lothians, Fife & Tayside, Glasgow & West of Scotland, Highlands & Islands and South of Scotland.
Former winner of both the small-medium business and public sector Director of the Year awards, Marshall Dallas, CEO of EICC said:
