IoD launches search for South of Scotland branch chair

The Institute of Directors is seeking a new chair to become the voice of business for South of Scotland.

The IoD is a membership community for directors that provides professional development, valuable connections and an influential lobbying voice.

IoD South of Scotland branch has lots of potential for growth and development and we are seeking a dynamic and creative individual to help build IoD Scotland’s presence and visibility in the area, in line with the IoD’s vision and wider strategy.

The successful candidate will support the IoD’s commitment to create better directors. They will focus on building inclusion, diversity and the highest standards of corporate governance while attracting new members to the Institute.

The voluntary position for a three-year term is open to IoD members who live or work in the South of Scotland. Applicants must have a demonstrable track record in board or equivalent roles with established business interests and a strong network of contacts.

IoD members range from start-up entrepreneurs to directors of large SMEs and international companies, as well as the public and third sectors.

The Institute secured vital support for directors during the Coronavirus pandemic, including financial assistance for wage bills and changes to insolvency rules.
