Meet your relationship manager Frances Fairclough
Get to know your new relationship manager in the North West
Describe your role:
As relationship manager in the North my top priority is ensuring members across the 11 branches are aware of, and making use of, the benefits included with IoD membership.
I am also here to support your development to become a better director. I work with our keen and knowledgeable volunteers across the region to answer your queries while staging thought-provoking events that improve your skills.
What did you do before joining the IoD?
I worked for the UK division of a global tuition franchisor. This involved managing and supporting franchisees across the Midlands and East of England to develop their businesses via improved product knowledge, staff management and marketing techniques.
Prior to that I worked in Japan as a language assistant teacher, helping students in rural areas to improve their English and providing training in Japanese to local schoolteachers.
How can members get the best out of their membership?
Make sure you’re receiving our emails! These include reminders about our lesser-known benefits, such as our top-class Business Information Service, as well as information about our policy team’s activities, our events and professional development courses.
Also, sign up to Policy Voice and make sure your opinion is counted in our discussions and proposals to central government. Without the voice of our members we cannot continue doing the great advocacy work that we do.
What is the best thing about your area?
The people rank as number one for me – straight-talking and humorous, collaboration comes easy in the north.
What are you most looking forward to in the next 12 months?
Connecting with members and more face-to-face meetings.
What do you do outside work?
It changes depending on the season! In autumn and winter, you’ll find me knitting, crocheting and reading. In spring and summer, I’ll be packing a small picnic and taking off on my motorbike (unless it’s raining!)
What is the best way to contact you?
Email me at [email protected] or call 0161 521 9252. If I can’t answer your call, please leave a voicemail and I’ll get back to you as soon as I can.
