Describe your role as an ambassador
I work as part of a diverse group of Lancashire Ambassadors to connect IoD members with other leaders.
What is your job?
I use my experience working in bothlarge complex organisations and small to medium size enterprises, to bring confidence and knowledge to apprentices through to complex strategic thinking forleaders and decision-makers.
I previously worked for BAE Systems from 2002 to 2022.
Other roles
I am a professional coach with Recruit for Spouses, an independent social enterprise returning talent back to the workplace. I am also a professional business advisor with Be the Business and a mentor volunteer as part of the Mentoring for Growth programme.
I am a school governor at The Willows Roman Catholic Primary School with experience as Director, charity trustee and governor at Highfield Priory School Independent preparatory school.
What do you do to relax outside work?
Spending time with my family, reading, swimming 3-4 times a week and watching all sports, particularly international rugby union.

Since November 2021
What part of IoD membership do you value most?
The ability to network.
What are the top three things about your branch area?
Diversity of population, diversity of businesses, diversity of outdoor space (urban and rural).
If you could give one message to the Prime Minister, what would it be?
Please continue to provide support to small businesses to drive family prosperity and local economic growth.
What are you most looking forward to in the next 12 months?
Building my network, building my business, getting high levels of personal and professional satisfaction from the work I do.
What advice would you give to yourself when you started out in business?
If it doesn’t feel right, it isn’t right, make a change!
