Describe your role as an ambassador
Working alongside Lancashire Chair Martyn Jones, I raise the profile of the IoD within the county. The aim is to seek out those who are interested in joining the IoD and explain the benefits of becoming an IoD member.
What is your job?
As a strategy and growth consultant at SK Growth I help clients achieve increased business value. We take an intimate approach to helping SMEs to build growing and sustainable businesses, whether you are scaling up, targeting growth or preparing for sale.
Previous roles
I worked for FTSE100 organisations in the medical and consumer goods sectors. I have worked on brands including Clearasil, Dettol, Durex, Elastoplast, Gaviscon, Lemsip and Nurofen.
Other roles
I am an associate non-executive director at Together Housing and a trustee at a Blackburn-based charity.
What do you do to relax outside work?
I enjoy playing badminton and football.

Since January 2022
What part of IoD membership do you value most?
The online material and Information Advice Service (IAS).
If you could give one message to the Prime Minister, what would it be?
With EU funding cuts following Brexit we must focus on SMEs by creating an economic environment that helps them flourish and create prosperity.
What are you most looking forward to in the next 12 months?
Meeting fellow IoD members and strengthening the IoD network.
What advice would you give to yourself when you started out in business?
It is good to talk! Have plenty of conversations with people from different businesses and all walks of life. Doing so will not only increase your network but your knowledge.
