International branch meeting

IoD Isle of Man hosted a well-attended International branch meeting on Wednesday 24 May at its HQ, The Claremont Hotel.

The evening was a celebration recognising the growth in local membership, and the achievements of the last 12 months.

The IoD strives to support, champion and amplify members’ voices which IoD Isle of Man achieve through the local ‘Connect’, ‘Develop’ and ‘Influence’ events.

The local event schedule is varied to offer ‘something for all’ through prestige ‘Connect’ opportunities, informal lunches, and local ‘Develop’ workshops.

The achievements of the 2022 Certificate in Company Direction cohort and success of the Director of the Year Awards in November last year were highlighted as flagship moments for the branch.

IoD Isle of Man were delighted to welcome guest speaker Hon Clare Barber MHK, Minister for Environment, Food and Agriculture to the International branch meeting. Minister Barber spoke engagingly about sustainability, and our local biosphere status.

The event concluded with thanks from IoD Isle of Man Chair, Jennifer Houghton who acknowledged the team of talented local Ambassadors and gave thanks to the local membership.

“ I believe what we have on the Isle of Man is a unique team of current and future leaders who have bonded through the IoD to create a secure future for business by bringing together unique talents that are supported by a strong committee. We are an institute for directors, run by directors. And each one of you plays an important role in making this a success story….our success story!”
