How we are helping directors post-pandemic

During the pandemic, directors of all organisations were forced to reflect upon their business model, operations and delivery of goods and services as well as connect and reassure their teams in often new ways.

Whilst some organisations will be able to revert to pre-Covid plans, most directors and business leaders have had to, or are having to, revisit their corporate vision, mission and values in keeping with a changed marketplace.

The IoD was no exception in embracing change.

Our excellent events and world-leading professional development for directors were quickly moved online so that we could continue to connect and learn together.

So where are we now?

Our events and professional development for members are moving to a mix of face to face and online – much like many businesses are now offering staff a hybrid way of working.

Over the next few months, we expect to bring back our popular lunches, Mastermind suppers and other events that enable our members to connect, develop and influence.

To support our members during this period of reflection and transition, the branch will be co-ordinating three key events in prominent locations in our region. The events will offer members the opportunity to hear from keynote speakers highlighting their own experiences

Please check our events calendar for the latest events and do join us.

Time to re-assess your skills?

As business evolves and changes, directors, leaders and managers also need to adapt and continue to develop to hone their skills.

Whether it is increasing influence, expanding strategies, improving communication or gaining further insights from financial reporting, the IoD’s professional development for directors is internally recognised and a great place for lifelong learning.

The lecturers are first class and leaders in their field with an ability to assist and support members as they put the teaching into practice. The courses are undertaken on a confidential basis.

Setting aside time to work on personal development – on the business rather than in it – is often reported as the best investment in time from those attending. Have a look at our latest courses – you never know where they could take you!
