Speakers
Anna Leach
Anna is a macroeconomics and policy professional, and was most recently Deputy Chief Economist at the CBI. She brings a wealth of experience in macroeconomic and business survey analysis, as well as policy analysis and strategic planning. Anna previously worked in the Government Economic Service in various roles at the Department for Work and Pensions and HM Treasury.
Dr Erin Young
Dr. Erin Young is Head of Innovation and Technology Policy at the Institute of Directors where she leads the IoD’s policy, strategy and thought leadership work on technology, science and innovation. Before joining the IoD, Erin was Project Co-Lead and Research Fellow in Public Policy at The Alan Turing Institute, the UK’s National Institute for Data Science and AI, where her work influenced the UK’s National AI Strategy and AI Opportunities Action Plan. Previously, Erin held positions at the United Nations (UN IIEP-UNESCO) in Paris, Kantar/WPP in London, MediaX at Stanford University, and Thomson Reuters in New York City, across policy, strategic communications, research, stakeholder engagement and government affairs.
Erin sits on the Strategy Steering Board for the City of London Corporation’s Women Pivoting to Digital Taskforce and advises the Hg Foundation on AI, skills and inequalities. She is frequently featured in high-profile media and presents across business and government including the European Parliament, GCHQ, KKR and the UK Science and Innovation Network (FCDO/DSIT) at British Embassies and Consulates globally.
Ellie Jobes CDir FCIPD CMIOSH
Ellie Jobes is the Group People Director at Bagnalls, the national painting contractor established in 1875, celebrating its 150th anniversary this year.
In her 14 years at Bagnalls, Ellie has shaped the company's people, learning and development, and health and safety strategies. Ellie also has experience within the voluntary sector, including as a charity trustee, and in education as a lecturer and school governor.
Under Ellie’s leadership, Bagnalls was honoured as Employer of the Year at the Yorkshire Business of the Year Awards 2025 and ranked 68th in the Sunday Times Top 100 Apprenticeship Employers 2025. This year, Bagnalls was also awarded a prestigious Princess Royal Training Award for their apprenticeship programme.
Ellie is a Chartered Director, a Chartered Fellow of the CIPD, and a Chartered Member of IOSH.
