Director Connect Directors social networking
Sponsored by WYK
Join the IoD Surrey and Berkshire Branch for a relaxing end to the day, social peer to peer director networking over drinks.
An evening of conversation at the fabulous Foxhills (which serves as the IoD Surrey and Berkshire Branch Hub we call the Pall Mall of the home counties!), hosted by the IoD Surrey Berkshire Chair, Jarmila Yu and IoD Surrey Berkshire Vice Chair, Kate Davis.
We hold six member social meetup events a year on a bimonthly basis, designed by directors for directors, and each one allows open networking so we can hear from members about what’s going in business across Surrey and Berkshire.
Each event will provide an opportunity to share key IoD and Surrey and Berkshire branch updates and share member news with each other, there will be no formal presentations, as the content and conversation comes from the attendees.
As part of the evening’s conversations, we are delighted to welcome Rob Jackson, Founder of WYK Digital, who will join us and share a 10-minute guest insight.
Rob and his team at WYK Digital deliver free digital skills training for individuals seeking employment, alongside heavily subsidised programmes to help organisations invest in their workforce capability.
Rob will share the story behind WYK Digital’s collaboration with Surrey County Council to deliver the Digital Skills Bootcamp in Surrey. Thank you to the directors in businesses in Surrey who joined us in supporting this initiative, our collective voice made a valuable difference as it positively influenced this initiative being delivered to our community.
In it's inaugural cohort in Surrey, a group of 30 participants completed an intensive Digital Skills Bootcamp 10-week full-time programme in digital marketing, equipping them with in-demand skills and career-ready confidence. With the programme concluding on the 6th March, our 9th March networking evening provides a timely opportunity to recognise and celebrate this achievement.
This brief guest insight will offer members a valuable perspective and opportunity to explore:
-
Developing digital capability in an evolving skills landscape
-
Accessing emerging talent and supporting employability
-
Practical upskilling options for existing teams
Members will also have the opportunity to meet individuals and businesses connected to the programme, and perhaps even discover a future hire.Following the insight, members are warmly invited to continue conversations over a celebration drink, kindly sponsored by WYK Digital.
Come along and meet other members and enjoy some networking opportunities in the relaxed and convivial setting that is Foxhills Club & Resort.
This bi-monthly member focused informal social meetup also gives you the opportunity to meet the IoD Surrey and Berkshire team of ambassadors, a chance to tap into their knowledge, expertise and networks whilst ensuring you are maximising your membership.
Refreshments available to purchase on the night.
The difference between a good director and a great director is the company they keep. Meet and learn from directors across the UK and beyond. Connect with your local branch to broaden your network, build your career and strengthen your organisation.
This event is open to IoD members, and those interested in becoming a member.
Places are limited so be sure to register your attendance as soon as possible.
Please kindly note that due to renovations onsite at Foxhills taking place during 2026 our usual Manor Lounge Bar in the Manor House may not be used for this event.
A confirmation email just before the event date will confirm which room at Foxhills the event will be taking place in. Should you miss this communication, then staff at Foxhills will be happy to direct you to the new room on the event evening. Thank you for your careful observation of this point.
We look forward to seeing you there!
P.S. Kindly note that our IoD Surrey and Berkshire branch events make donations to the two IoD Surrey and Berkshire Branch Charities: the Kent, Surrey, Sussex Air Ambulance Service and to the Foxhills Community Camp initiative organised by Runneymede Borough Council and funded by the Hayton Charitable Trust. By attending our events know that you will be supporting the life-saving work of KSS and supporting disadvantaged youngsters in the local area. Thank you!
P.P.S. To sponsor any of our events or for information about the various sponsorship packages available for our Annual Director Retreat taking place on Tuesday 30 September 2025 please contact: the Surrey Chair, Jarmila Yu via email: [email protected].
