Join IoD Suffolk, for an evening of informal networking where you can meet other entrepreneurs in a relaxed and supportive environment.
We will be joined by local entrepreneur Sandy Ruddock of Scarlett & Mustard. Based in Earl Soham, near Framlingham, the multi award-winning firm was established in 2012 and produce a range of delicious sauces, dressings and marinades.
After the short presentation, there will be an opportunity for attendees to micro-pitch their business for five minutes to other guests (this may be limited depending on timings).
We welcome existing IoD members and anyone wishing to learn more about IoD Membership, in particular our IoD 99 membership, the UKs fastest growing network exclusively for Founders and Entrepreneurs wanting to expand their start-up.
There is no charge for this event but please register as we have limited places available.
Sandy Ruddock, Scarlett & Mustard -
her passion is great tasting food with exceptional provenance, and in 2012 Sandy and her late husband Julian Pollard established their high end food business, Scarlett & Mustard, making a range of award-winning sweet and savoury condiments using locally grown ingredients.
The products are stocked in some of the most prestigious food halls in the world including Harrods, Selfridges, Partridges, Booths and Lakeland. They also export to Europe, the US, the Middle East and the Far East. They have so far won 26 Great Taste Awards for the range.
In 2014 Sandy was the Investec Food & Drink Entrepreneur of the Year for Best Newcomer, and in 2015 she was appointed one of Defra’s 50 Food Stars. She was also a finalist in the 2015 Lloyds Bank Business of the Year Awards, and a finalist in the Women in Business Awards.
In 2016 Scarlett & Mustard won the East Anglian Daily Times Small Business of the Year, and was runner up for overall Business of the Year. The business was also awarded Food & Drink Marketing Business of the Year and the award for Pride of Suffolk.
Sandy was elected to the Board of the New Anglia Local Enterprise Partnership in July 2017. She is a Governor of Easton & Otley College, writes a monthly column for Suffolk Magazine, and runs regular sessions for a group of disadvantaged teenagers in the local area. She lives near Framlingham in Suffolk with her children, and various furred friends. Cycling, dog walking and cryptic crosswords are her favourite pastimes, along with, of course, food!
Very sadly, Sandy’s husband Julian died very suddenly whilst on holiday with their family in France in July 2017. She has vowed to build the business into a successful brand in his memory.
