IoD course leader
Jo Haigh is a partner in fds Corporate Finance, with bases in London, Birmingham and Yorkshire, and a partner in the fds Knowledge, a specialist training and development business.
Jo is an experienced dealmaker and has bought and sold over 300 companies in the last 20 years, specialising in owner managed companies. She is a regular presenter for the Institute of Directors on both corporate governance and mergers and acquisitions.
As a partner of fds Knowledge, a highly successful training and consultancy organisation she founded at the start of the 90s, she has held circa 40+ non-Executive roles over that period in companies across the country and helped many businesses through successful transactions. She has sold three of her own companies and undertaken two personal MBOs.
Professional credentials and training experience
Jo is currently Non-Executive Director of two companies; Jermyn Consulting and Acuity Associates of London. She is also Chairman for TQUK Limited and ICM Group Limited. Jo sits on the board for the Angelus Advisory Group, and has a close affiliate relationship with Citroen well providing their corporate finance services.
Jo is a visiting Fellow at The University of Leeds where she delivers the Corporate Governance development programme for all academic staff wishing to hive off new companies. In addition to training and developing non-executive directors appointed to University Companies whose role is to represent university interests, Jo is an author and has several published books on areas such as boardroom and business expertise and an entrepreneur’s guide. Jo also has a published book for the FT for non-financial managers.
Jo has also won and been shortlisted for several awards during her career including: Winner of The Sunday Times NED of the Year award; Winner in the First Women Awards 2014; Winner of the Outperformance Award 2012 from Vistage, awarded for going above and beyond as a speaker and Finalist of the Yorkshire Women of Achievement Awards 2013.
