We believe in a world where anyone with sufficient professional experience, regardless of their background or protected characteristics, is able to embark on a board-level path of their choice
The IoD Emerging NEDs Special Interest Group is on a mission to increase board representation in the UK. We aim to identify, inspire, develop and place talented professionals from diverse backgrounds onto boards across a range of sectors, from charities through to FTSE 250 companies.
This group is for you if you are:
A new non-executive director i.e. you have recently secured your first board position – and would like to be supported by a welcoming community of peers.
An aspiring non-executive director i.e. you have at least 3 years’ experience, including strategic and/or leadership roles – and would like practical guidance and support to secure your first board position.
An experienced professional who brings characteristics that are currently under-represented at board level.
An executive search firm, organisation or company committed to EDI and looking to connect with a diverse pool of talent that is ready and willing to embark on a board-level path.
We are committed to promoting representation on boards and setting inclusive standards for corporate governance in the UK. We do this through thought leadership, networking events, and by facilitating board placements via external partnerships and training through the IoD Academy.
