Student member of the year 2016

Do you have what it takes to be the IoD Student Member of the Year 2016?

We are looking for students who have implemented brilliant and innovative projects that have created real tangible value and which fall into one of the following categories:

  • Start-up business
  • A project developed in your academic career which had commercial viability
  • A project in the course of employment that added value to the company

The Student of the Year Award 2016 will run alongside other award categories such as Global Director of the Year, Young Director of the Year and many more. It recognises the student who has shown directorial qualities in a project they have worked on in business, employment or an academic capacity.

The award offers a unique opportunity for student members to gain national recognition alongside full IoD members and business leaders. We hope that all our student members will be keen to put themselves forward for this prestigious award and take advantage of the development opportunities available. Final shortlisted students will be invited to the Director of the Year Awards at the Lancaster London Hotel where the winner will be announced.

Overall we believe it is a great opportunity for the IoD to recognise our fantastic student members and to celebrate all they have achieved so far.

What are the benefits of entering the Student of the Year Award 2016?

Shortlisted students will be invited to the assessment day where they will have the opportunity to present their project or business idea to our panel of expert judges. They will receive valuable feedback and advice on their business idea from the panel and will have the opportunity for a guided tour of the IoD’s premises in Pall Mall.

The winner will receive an official Institute of Directors Awards trophy, three years’ IoD student membership and a certificate for the IoD Student of the Year Award 2016.

Shortlisted students will be invited to the Director of the Year Awards at the Lancaster London Hotel, which is an excellent networking opportunity with more than 300 directors from across the UK coming together to celebrate the best in British business talent.
