Gavin Dingley joined the IoD Advisory Service in October 2018.
Gavin is a commercial and intellectual property Barrister at the self-employed Bar. His practice includes both contentious and non-contentious aspects. Gavin is able to advise on brand strategy, maximising intellectual property portfolios, domain name disputes and social media related issues.
Gavin is retained as counsel for one of the North East’s fastest growing companies ‘Epic Social’ and a number of prominent social media influencers. In addition, he is junior counsel to the Under-Cover Police Inquiry, retained on the Treasury Solicitor’s panel of junior civil counsel and on the Home Office’s panel of counsel.
During the course of his career he has advised and appeared in courts and tribunals across the country at different levels both for and against the state. In addition, he has handled cases involving trade marks, passing off, copyright, domain name disputes, social media naming rights and data protection.
He has acted for a wide range of clients, from multinational enterprises, fast-growing start-ups and individual social media ‘influencers’.
