Policy Voice September 2024 Remote and flexible working, the Business Tax Roadmap and public sector pay deals

Policy Voice is a monthly survey of IoD members who share their views on current business issues, providing statistical evidence and anecdotal detail we use in our government engagements, consultations, and policy papers.

Responses to our survey in September helped continue to shape and influence our discussions leading up to, and following, the Chancellor’s Budget Statement on 30 October 2024. Responses also helped to shape our engagement with government on their employment rights package.

This data also contributed to our Director’s Economic Confidence Index, which we send directly into the heart of government each month. September’s reading was picked up well by the media. The Times focused on the investment angle, while The Telegraph discussed how the government’s plans for employment rights and tax will impact business.
