Policy Voice March 2024 The Spring Budget, employment law and sourcing supply
We had 687 respondents in March.
March’s data helped us to understand our members’ views on the Spring Budget. Across the board, the main concern was on the perceived “short-termism” of the policies the Chancellor put forward. Some members also had general doubts about the effectiveness of fiscal policy with a potential change of government on the horizon.
We also continued our research on some employment law changes the Labour Party has proposed. This time we were specifically interested in the ‘right to disconnect’, ‘parental leave’, ‘protection against all types of unfair dismissal’ and ‘sick pay’.
Our economic confidence index showed tentative signs of economic green shots as business confidence rose slightly.
