IoD appoints Anna Leach as new Chief Economist
The Institute of Directors has announced that Anna Leach has been appointed as the new Chief Economist at the Institute.
Anna is a macroeconomics and policy professional, and was most recently Deputy Chief Economist at the CBI. She brings a wealth of experience in macroeconomic and business survey analysis, as well as policy analysis and strategic planning. Anna previously worked in the Government Economic Service in various roles at the Department for Work and Pensions and HM Treasury.
Speaking about her appointment, Anna Leach said:
“I am delighted to join the IoD as we head into a crucial General Election, and look forward to working with IoD members and the wider business community.
“The Institute’s role in supporting the work of directors by providing a networking community, training and other support services, and being that voice for business leaders into government, is crucial in helping to shape the UK economy and policy environment as we try and achieve a step-change in UK growth.”

Leach joined the Institute of Directors on Monday 17 June 2024.
