IoD press release IoD welcomes new non-executive directors to the Board
The Institute of Directors has strengthened its Board with the appointment of three new Non-Executive Directors.
The new directors are:
- Renee Hunt – Renee is an executive leader with over 30 years of experience in a variety of technical and business roles across: financial services, media, telecoms and the public sector. She was most recently Chief Technology Officer at Compare The Market. She also has non-executive experience having served as a trustee and Vice Chairman of Opera North.
- Mark Pacitti – Mark is a Non-Executive Chairman/Director, Board Advisor, ex-big four Global Practice Leader and corporate finance specialist. He is an expert in guiding middle-market transaction and investment strategies for private/PE backed businesses and major corporates to drive shareholder value. He is currently Chairman of Arran Aromatics Limited, a private equity portfolio company of Endless LLP.
- Dr. Vikas Shah MBE DL – Vikas is an entrepreneur, investor, non-executive and thought leader with significant experience in founding, leading and exiting businesses. He has over 15 years experience in non-executive roles working with UK government departments, and large professional services and technology businesses. He is an Honorary Professor at the University of Manchester’s Alliance Business School, Honorary Professorial Fellow at the Lancaster University Management School and was formerly a Visiting Professor on the MIT Sloan MBA in Lisbon. He was awarded an Honorary Doctorate at the University of Salford in 2022, and an MBE for Services to Business and the Economy in 2018.
Commenting on the directors’ appointments, John Browett, Chair of the IoD, said:

They each bring significant and varied experience that I am confident will add significant value as the Institute continues to build on the growth in membership and stronger financial position that we have secured through the modernisation work of the last few years. “I am looking forward to working closely with Renee, Mark and Vikas as we move on to the next stage of that development.”
Ms Hunt, Mr Pacitti and Dr. Shah will formally take up their positions on the Board on 15 January 2025.
As well as Chair John Browett and the new appointments, the other IoD Board non-executive directors are Femi Bamisaiye, Amaechi Nsofor, Ieda Gomes Yell, Graeme Jenkins, Beth Ahlering and Julia Marsh. Director General Jonathan Geldart and Chief Financial Officer Kate Cooper (who joined the Board on 1 December 2024) are also members of the Board.
