IoD appoints Ilaria Lavalle Miller as new Chief Governance & Policy Officer

In this role, she will play a critical leadership role within the IoD, with responsibility for leading the organisation’s policy and governance agenda, ensuring that the Institute continues to be recognised as a respected and authoritative voice on matters of corporate governance, regulation and business policy.

Ilaria is an experienced governance and public policy leader with more than two decades shaping regulatory policy and legislation in the UK and EU. Her career spans senior roles in both government and industry, including serving as Director of Regulatory and Public Policy at EY UK and holding key positions within the Department for Business, Innovation, Science and Trade and the Cabinet Office.

Ilaria has contributed to governance reform at an international level as a member of the OECD Corporate Governance Committee and the EU Company Law Expert Group. She continues to bring her expertise to the ICAEW Corporate Governance Committee and the Accountancy Europe Corporate Governance Policy Group.

Speaking about her appointment, Ilaria said:
