The Institute of Directors (IoD) and the University of St Andrews Business School have joined forces to launch an innovative new executive education programme that will equip current and aspiring board members with the skills, knowledge, and strategies needed to navigate the complexities of leadership in a fast-changing global environment.
Delivered by the Business School’s leading academics and expert practitioners from the IoD, the Global Certificate in Company Direction offers a unique blend of academic rigour and practical insights. The intensive six-and-a-half-day residential course and virtual learning components will enable participants to immerse themselves in real-world scenarios, build networks and gain a globally recognised qualification.
The first programme will take place from 18 to 24 October 2025 and will feature an exclusive keynote session delivered in person by Erin Brockovich, the iconic environmental activist and consumer advocate who inspired the eponymous Academy Award-winning film.
Participants will explore essential topics, including the role of the board in corporate governance, leadership for directors and strategy development. The programme also features a unique boardroom simulation, executive coaching sessions, and insights from high-profile speakers on critical themes such as Environmental, Social and Governance factors, Artificial Intelligence and crisis management.
