Get to know West Midlands Young Director Ambassador - Adam Kiani
Entrepreneur Adam Kiani combines running successful businesses while taking to film sets as an actor and stunt man.
Adam Kiani, is the IoD’s West Midlands ambassador for young directors, having won the region’s Young Director of the Year Award in 2021.
He also won the Director of the Year in the awards’ innovation category in 2018.
Adam heads up PT Academy which specialises in Ofqual regulated health and fitness qualifications and trains individuals with ambitions to become personal trainers. Through the academy they become qualified personal trainers and gain employment in gyms or pursue self-employed work.
As well as the academy’s partnership with well-known gym brands, the company provides mentoring to students at South and City College and Joseph Chamberlain College, both in Birmingham.
Born and bred in the West Midlands, Adam is passionate about business and equally about giving young people opportunities to have successful careers.
“I’m passionate about people,” says Adam who went to drama school and was accepted into RADA. “Winning the Young Director of the Year award was one of the proudest moments of my life, but it was one for the team at PT Academy and their achievements.”
Adam has recently appeared in the television series The Gentlemen and is currently in pre-production for a British based film where he plays a good guy and singer and tv personality Peter Andre is the ‘baddie’.
He starred in the television series Suspect appearing alongside James Nesbitt. He has also notched up some amazing stunt credits doubling Bobby Deol in the Bollywood blockbuster Animal and doubling Cliff Curtis in Meg 2.
Adam describes himself as an ‘avid supporter’ of the IoD and the professional development opportunities and introductions it provides to members.
Of the many membership benefits, he says Pall Mall is an ‘amazing venue in which to host anyone’.
In addition to PT Academy, Adam manages Academy Investments which operates a gym in Moseley and a coffee and tea business in Birmingham. He also has shares in a manufacturing company which produces high end gym equipment.
Adam adds: “PT Academy was the start of my 15 years in business and being an IoD ambassador for young directors has and will continue to open so many doors and opportunities for me and for young directors themselves.”
