IoD Japan Group hosts Okinawa Keizai Doyukai delegation to strengthen UK-Japan economic partnerships
The IoD was honoured to welcome a distinguished delegation from Okinawa Keizai Doyukai for a roundtable meeting at our historic Pall Mall headquarters. This strategic gathering aimed to strengthen economic cooperation between the UK and Okinawa and identify critical areas for mutual growth and partnership.
The Okinawa Keizai Doyukai delegation, co-chaired by Miki Fuchibe, chairman of JCC Corporation, and Masayasu Yamashiro, president and CEO of the Bank of Okinawa Ltd, comprised executives from some of Okinawa’s leading companies including:

The meeting was supported by Takaaki Shimada, Director General of Okinawa Keizai Doyukai, and facilitated by the Embassy of Japan in the UK. Welcoming the delegation IoDJonathan Geldart, Director General of the IoD, shared the IoD’s commitment to fostering international business connections and sustainable growth.
The roundtable included contributions from key IoD Fellow and industry executives including:

The discussions focused on sectors such as technology, healthcare and life science, renewal & green energy, financial services, insurance, agritech, electronics and telecom, emphasising leveraging shared expertise to foster innovation and resilience.
