IoD Guernsey and Jersey collaborate to discuss How to Solve Productivity Puzzle

The IoD’s April breakfast will see the business organisations in Jersey and Guernsey collaborate to offer business leaders in both islands a unique event.

The session – Productivity Power-Up: Jersey and Guernsey Navigating Challenges for Business Success – will delve into the dynamic world of productivity enhancement and take place on Thursday 18 April. In today’s fast-paced business environment, the quest for increased productivity is more crucial than ever but arguably our economic prospects as islands look challenging without systemic change.

The event, which will run concurrently in both islands, aims to address the challenges faced by organisations in Guernsey and Jersey striving to boost efficiency and output, with insight from local business leaders.

Panellists from both islands will interact virtually to discuss how the office environment, corporate culture, mindset, workforce wellbeing and technology integration all have a part to play in boosting productivity.

Speakers include Rory Inglis, Managing Director, POS interiors, Lindsay Hart, Sales & Marketing Director, NP Group, Paul Murphy, CEO, Jersey Business and Dan Hare, Founder, Continuum. The session will be moderated by IoD Jersey Chair, Natasha Egré.

Guests will enjoy a light breakfast thanks to sponsorship from Skipton International.

The IoD branches in Guernsey and Jersey would like to thank C5 Alliance and BDO for their technical and venue support.

“The Islands have a long and close relationship, and it is more important than ever that we collaborate on topics which are shared challenges for both Guernsey and Jersey. We are delighted to join forces with our IoD colleagues in Jersey to stage this unique event, which will enable audiences and panellists in both Islands to engage in this important topic to drive continued economic prosperity.” said Glen Tonks, IoD Guernsey Chair.

“The hybrid format of the event means we can still enjoy face-to-face networking time before technology takes over to bring the two events together for what I am sure will be a lively and interactive session.”

Natasha Egré, Chair of IoD Jersey, commented: “In Jersey and Guernsey we are working in island environments that have finite resources and infrastructure to support continued population growth. Therefore, it’s of paramount importance that we look at productivity measures to achieve economic growth. So many elements from technology, to culture, to skills have a direct impact on the productivity of a business, which in turn drives the profitability, competitiveness and long-term viability of organisations. Through this combined event with IoD Guernsey, we hope to share ideas, and the expertise of our panel, to help support businesses in achieving sustainable efficiency.
