Robin Watson CBE

More than 35 years of engineering, industry and business experience, with the past 20 years spent in executive positions across a variety of market sectors around the globe. A breadth of executive and non-executive board experience in both the UK and US public markets. Has previously served as Wood Plc chief executive for 7 years, transforming it into one of the world’s foremost engineering and consultancy companies, having started a professional career with ExxonMobil.

Currently serves as a non-executive director on the board of Honeywell International, who are a US industrial technology company with a market capitalisation of $140 billion. Also serves as a non-executive director on the board of the Institute of Directors and as a member of the UK Government’s Investment Council. Has extensive director and chair experience of several government and industry representative bodies over the years.

Passionate about responsible business, achieving the energy transition and building the sustainable and connected world of tomorrow. Committed to education and continuous professional development, is a visiting professor at the Robert Gordon University, holds both a Doctor of Engineering (Honoris Causa) and an Honors Degree from Heriot Watt University and an MBA from the University of Strathclyde. Is a regular industry keynote speaker.

Has received a variety of awards recognizing leadership, innovation, and entrepreneurism over the years. Awarded the CBE, in Her Majesty the Queen’s 2020 Birthday Honours, in recognition of services to international trade.
